Rehman Ali Bhalesha

I simply love the law. I take great pleasure in helping people using legal knowledge and I enjoy exploring how the law can improve society. As a law student, I recognized that the legal process could be used to enhance Texas’s business climate, public health, and criminal justice system through reform of outdated drug laws. Instituting a historic collaboration between my law school and Rice University, I partook in direct efforts to improve Texas laws. My endeavors were chronicled by media outlets such as the Atlantic Magazine, the Houston Press, KPRC Houston, and CW NewsFix.

My drive to advocate for the enhancement of one’s business opportunities, healthcare options, and overall liberties led me to write several manuscripts and numerous published articles related to business and drug reform. For example, my article entitled “Cannabis industry: Enforcing contracts” where I counsel investors, financiers, and entrepreneurs, was published by the Houston Chronicle, TrendWave, and numerous industry publications, such Cannabis Business Executive, the Center for Legal Cannabis, MJ Investor News, Invest In Cannabis, Cannabis Law Prof Blog, Keyt Law, E Cannabis, Stock Prices Now, World Cannabis, Cannabis Voice, and Medicinal Colorado.  

Once I became licensed as an attorney, my mission to use the law to improve an individual’s business opportunities and overall liberties became crystalized.  Using my knowledge of contract and business law, I fight to assure that one’s contractual rights are enforced and one is not defrauded in his or her business dealings. I also work alongside business professionals to provide them with the confidence received from knowing their contracts and other legal instruments are enforceable in a court of law.
