Rebecca Lyn Esty-Burke

Please DO NOT waste your money with Rebecca. She gives poor advice. She does not advocate for you. She will do the opposite of what you ask her. She does not give an overall picture of the divorce process. Working with her was a nightmare. Look at all the reviews across google and yelp and you will s...ee she is a bad attorney. Your money money is better spent else where.

DO NOT HIRE REBECCA BURKE. I urgently caution you not to hire Rebecca Burke. Rebecca Burke and her legal team are among the most incompetent lawyers. As a former client, I was misled by her guidance, she is greedy and overcharged for her services, she is sloppy in her arguments, unorganized and u...nderstaffed, she did not communicate what was going on with my case, and she cannot articulate well or write good drafts. I was misled by her council. I hired Burke to represent my child custody and support case. It became clear she was not providing fair representation and did not fight for my legal rights when she suggested I help pay for an expert internal investigation into my finances to help my ex's case. Rebecca Burke has poor communication. I was unheard, overcharged, and left out of crucial communications. There were many times she stated she would return my phone call or get back to me and never did. She did not even inform me of my court dates until the day of. I learned of our court date through a mutual friend I share with my ex. I was always wondering what was going on with my case and Rebecca ignored my inquiries for progress updates. I was overcharged. Rebecca charged me for every single email that was related to my case including correspondence to me. She claimed to have held a 1.5 hour phone call with the financial expert digging into my records and ignored my requests for notes from the call. To this day, she has failed to provide any details from the phone call that costs me several hundreds of dollars and I do not know the outcome of their conversation. She is sloppy in her work, unorganized, and understaffed. She did not know the ins and outs of the law and failed to coordinate effective court appearances. She refused to appear to court in person and during our court hearing, she let the other lawyer dominate the conversation and did not interject or speak on my behalf. Her guidance was poor and after speaking with additional lawyers, they shared the council provided by Rebecca Burke was incorrect and flat out horrible. During a time when I was experiencing personal turmoil, Rebecca Burke only added to my troubles and she did not advocate for my well-being. Save yourself the extra trouble and find a different lawyer.

I don't know where to begin but to do your research please I had a custody battle that she says would be easy took my money of a thousand dollars , ended up with a bill of five thousand dollars and didn't do anything for me but take my money to this day I have to clean up what she did not do !!!!!...

I was "punted" to Esty-Burke midstream of a C/S modification request due to layoff, union concessions, bankruptcy, and foreclosure. Though I felt my motion was compelling, the "ex" willfully quit her job of 12 years making $31.00/hr and now makes $19.00/hr according to her I&E; . I was told there was... nothing I could do to and that the judge would be unlikely to impute her income to her previous (decade) of earnings. Though my C/S more than tripled, I was assured by her this was par for the course and in order "to avoid issues of character" it was best for me to accept the new order. Do NOT use this attorney. She, like many other newer graduates will present the outwardly appearance of aggressive representation, but when the big day comes, she has failed to deliver, or even campaign for my rights as a father. This one act, in ten minutes time in court, has resulted in the transfer of more than one hundred thousand dollars of my property ($) to mom's slush fund...all while charging me over $8,000 to represent me in what should have been a slam dunk. There truly is no justice in the family court system for fathers. We are viewed only as walking ATM's. Hopoefully her bias and lack of agressiveness serves women better. I fyour a father, be forewarned. You will LOSE!
