A versatile and dynamic trial attorney, Paul has built a solid track record of litigation success in personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, wrongful death and brain injury cases. Since 1999, Paul has represented his clients in a diverse array of federal and state court cases and has consistently obtained favorable results for them, whether in the courtroom or at the negotiation table. Paul is a motivated and articulate professional who thrives in the courtroom setting, excels at client rapport, and deftly manages cases from inception to trial or settlement. His proven case record includes a record verdict in Essex County of $1.632 million in a medical malpractice case involving the wrongful prescribing and administering of the antipsychotic drug, perphenazine, which negligence resulted in his client developing an irreversible, painful and disfiguring neurological disorder, Tardive Dyskinesia; a $780,000 settlement in a medical malpractice case involving a missed diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis, which negligence resulted in cirrhosis of the liver and ultimately death; and many other verdicts and settlements in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Paul's very first case tried before a jury, just months after he became an attorney, was against a large defense contracting corporation which had been designing and manufacturing carbon fiber spokes for bicycles through its subsidiary corporation. It was proven at trial the carbon fiber spokes had been defectively designed, that the corporate defendant had knowledge of the defect, and that it failed to warn. It was shown that when one or more of the spokes loosened, the spokes would catastrophically fail, which happened to Paul's client, who was severely injured while competing in a triathlon in the Bahamas. The jury returned a substantial verdict for Paul's client. Ever since becoming involved in this case, Paul has devoted his practice to helping those injured by the negligence or recklessness of others.
During his career Paul has gained extensive knowledge in various areas of medicine, including surgical and gastroenterological procedures, prescription medications, and particularly with the psychiatric drugs Aripiprazole (Abilify), Ziprasidone (Geodon), Risperidone (Risperdal), Olanzapine (Zyprexa), Haloperidol (Haldol), Quetiapine (Seroquel), and Perphenazine (Trilafon). Paul's cases have been highlighted by local and national media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, CNN, the Washington Post, the Richmond Times Dispatch, and Virginia Lawyer's Weekly. Paul was also included in Virginia Lawyer's Weekly's list of "Largest Verdicts in Virginia". Paul derives his motivation from his clients and his ability to help them through difficult times. His keen analytical skills allow him to focus on the merits to maximize results.
Paul is a Richmond, VA native. After receiving his B.A. in Economics and Business from the Virginia Military Institute, Paul received his J.D. from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. In his free time Paul enjoys spending time with his son, golfing, kayaking, and riding his motorcycle. Paul is also an avid squash player and regularly competes in tournaments. Paul's family loves animals and has several pets, including their beloved English bulldog, Boss. In 2007, Paul took his love for animals and agreed to act pro bono on behalf of several concerned animal welfare organizations and filed an amici curiae brief on their behalf in the Michael Vick dogfighting case, U.S.A. v. Michael Vick, requesting that the subject dogs be rehabilitated at the expense of Mr. Vick rather than euthanized. As a result, many of the dogs were saved and went on to live normal, healthy and happy lives.

Paul Curley Review
My experience with Paul has been nothing but professional and admirable. He's concise, intelligent and expedient in working within the guidelines of the legal system, but unexpectedly faster than the norm. I would highly recommend Paul.
