John O'Neill Wilson

John O. Wilson graduated from the Drexel University School of Law, magna cum laude. Excelling both in study and practice, John used his third year of law school to engage in an experiential education. Through his time at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, John prosecuted misdemeanor cases, felony preliminary hearings, juvenile adjudications, motions and sentencing. John’s experiences in the Philadelphia criminal law field have provided an invaluable contribution to the firm. Following his time with the District Attorney’s Office, John worked with the City of Philadelphia Law Department where he defended the City and its law enforcement agents from lawsuits claiming constitutional and civil rights violation. With the City, John became well-versed in civil rights law under 42 U.S.C. §1983 and its accompanying complex jurisprudence.

Though new to the practice, John has excelled in both settling and litigating cases. Given his background in criminal law, John has a distinctive advantage over his peers when he appears before the court on behalf of clients, arguing for justice and fairness. His calm and articulate demeanor shows strength and confidence. John has dedicated himself to serving the clients and ensuring fair compensation for their serious injuries. He does not back down from a fight and strives to ensure that no client is left without a voice.

John uses his talents to provide support to the new generation of aspiring lawyers by volunteering as a judge for the University of Pennsylvania Mock Trial tournaments. Providing feedback, critiques and guidance on presenting an effective case, John pushes high school and college level competitors to be the best possible advocates they can be. John also volunteers with the Philadelphia AIDS Fund to help provide public awareness, prevention assistance and care services for those in the community living with HIV.

John is a member of the bar in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, the District of New Jersey, Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia (pending). He is an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, GALLOP (Gay and Lesbian Lawyers of Philadelphia) and the National LGBT Bar Association. John’s impressive track record to date is sure to make him a rising star in the Philadelphia legal community.
