Nick E. Moorad II

Nick E. Moorad, II is an Associate Attorney at the Law Office of Malcolm D. Smith, Jr., with primary focuses in the areas of workers’ compensation defense, insurance defense and personal injury.  Nick obtained a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Sociology from Oklahoma State University and his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law. Nick is a current member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the United States District Court, Northern District of Oklahoma, allowing him to practice at both the state and federal levels in Tulsa.  Nick is also a member of the American Bar Association and Federal Bar Association.  In 2014, Nick received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Government Practice Externship.  In 2016 and 2017, Nick received the Top 10 under 40 award for the state of Oklahoma from the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys.  Nick also received a 2017 10 best attorney client satisfaction award from the American Institute of Legal Counsel.

While pursuing his law degree at OCU, Nick worked as a licensed legal intern for an insurance defense firm in Oklahoma City where his responsibilities included drafting memoranda, correspondence, briefs, motions and pleadings as well as performing legal research on complex issues of law in matters ranging from insurance defense, workers’ compensation, real estate and business transactional law.

During his third year of law school, Nick worked as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Jacqueline Miller of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, with focuses in the public utility, transportation and oil & gas divisions.  After graduating from Oklahoma City University School of Law, Nick moved back to his hometown of Tulsa where he began practicing law at the Law Office of Malcolm D. Smith, Jr.  Nick lives in Tulsa with his wife and enjoys traveling, serving in his local church, spending time with family and friends and golfing in his free time.
