Please beware of this lawyer, you get what you pay for. This lawyer represented my friend on some serious criminal charges. He did not prep him appropriately. He routinely did not return phone calls. His appearance during the trial was sloppy and unprofessional. He was inattentive to details. This ca...se was presented in front of 12 jurors and Mr. Smith was never prepared or confident in his line of questioning. We thought he was the assistant to another lawyer but he was not. He was always the last lawyer to get to the sidebar. He presented evidence which the prosecutor had a witness for. After the prosecutor questioned his witness (for 45 mins.) Mr. Smith took his turn to ask his one question. The witness could not answer his question it was not her area of expertise so the judge told Mr. Smith to rephrase his question. He was not savvy enough to rephrase his question so he allowed the witness to go unquestioned and the evidence to be presented permanently. The evidence was very damaging for his client and Mr. Smith should have never presented the evidence if he had no intentions on cross examining the prosecutors witness. I feel confident saying Mr. Smith is not a trial lawyer and is not capable of representing anyone on serious criminal charges. It was unanimously decided by family and friends present at the trail that Mr. Smith represented my friend poorly and he should have been fired. Like I said earlier please beware you get what you pay for if you want the best then you better keep looking past this lawyer.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.
