The first step here is always to negotiate with the D.A. to see what's on the table. We assess the case. When necessary, we take it to a jury.

Whenever possible, I try to reach an agreement with the other side. I believe parents are in the best position to set the custody schedule rather than leaving those details up to a judge. I draft many Custody Agreements or Stipulations which become Court Orders. This spares everyone the time and money of going to court. Not to mention the stress on the children. However, sometimes it is simply necessary to litigate the case. I have done this more times than I can count with much success.

Work in this area includes drafting Marital Settlement Agreements to divide the assets and debts by agreement in an effort to keep the client out of court and get the case resolved in a timely fashion. When necessary, we litigate the case and all of the surrounding issues, including spousal support, alimony and division of property. With every divorce I recommend a Power of Attorney and a new Will. The goal is to reach a conclusion to the case, one way or another, as quickly as possible.
