Miriam Bustamante Riedmiller

I used Ms. Riedmiller for immigration and citizenship services for a period of 2 years. In my opinion, as counsel, she was disorganized, uninformed, and gave no value-added information or guidance on my case that I could not have garnered from the internet. I also consider her handling of legal fo...rms, case notes, and billing/invoicing sloppy and disorganized. I often had to edit her work. She refused, twice, to move forward on my citizenship application, claiming adamantly that there were still "problems" with the application which needed to be addressed. At this point I stopped going to her. I ended up consulting with another immigration attorney for 1 hour, and after looking at my case, that attorney gave his opinion that I did not need legal representation for my citizenship application. I followed his advice, submitted the application on my own, and became a citizen about six months later. None of the said "problems" ever materialized. I strongly recommend that you do not use Ms. Riedmiller as your immigration lawyer.

Ms Riedmiller is a kind, knowledgeable professional who is excellent in the immigration area. She worked closely with my family and me--in person, by phone, and by e-mail--and was able to successfully solve a number of problems in my family's case, including medical-related issues. We are very grat...eful to her. She was pro-active in anticipating and overcoming complicated issues and kept us well-informed at all times. As a family member happily said, "Everything she said would happen happened." I am an attorney myself, but, prior to my family's working with her, I had almost no exposure to immigration law. I feel that I have learned a lot from her both professionally and personally.

My experience with Atty. Riedmiller was outstanding. Atty. Riedmiller was exceedingly professional and extraordinarily competent. She exhibited a very strong knowledge of complex immigration law issues, and was masterful in handling my relatives' immigration case. Throughout her representation of ...my relatives, she demonstrated a keen sense of professional responsibility, great judgment, trustworthiness, and integrity. In light of my experience with Atty. Riedmiller, I was surprised to read a couple of unfavorable comments about Atty. Riedmiller on this site. I wonder whether these people had other hidden agenda. I would hope that anyone who reads these comments would not make any negative conclusion about Atty. Riedmiller without investigating the truthfulness of the comments and the credibility of the people opining. Indeed, it is very easy to destroy someone's reputation by manufacturing dubious information and then hiding behind the anonymity of the Internet.

She asked me for $2000 and refused to issue a receipt when I asked for one and said it was not needed. She says this is what it cost her to research my case and all I received from her is a letter which I showed to the Ayuda organization who then warned me to be careful of immigration attorneys I con...sult with. They gave me a list of attorneys in the area that they recommended but I found an attorney in NY who documented, issued receipts and actually did something about my case and not just take my money.
