QDRO

Did not clearly explain the QDRO process and continued to work with a legal team that did not represent me

Beware!

Michael worked for Cordell/Cordell last year when I hired him. He lied, misrepresented, colluded with opposing counsel, over-billed, and ultimately withdrew from my case before my court date. I was alone without representation on my day and got slayed.

Wrecked in mediation

Michael represented me in a family law case and at first he seemed great. Don't let his smooth talking and confidence fool you, we got slammed in mediation. Michael represented me about 4 years ago and in the last 4 years I have learned a lot. First rule of mediation, DONT DO MEDIATION FOR 10 HOURS. ...A simple rule I didn't know at the time, but Michael should have. You make dumb choices when all you can think about is leaving. Further, he was unwilling to explore accusations being thrown my way and see how we could formulate a defense. The relationship between my ex and I was toxic and there was abuse from both sides, but because I was honest and owned my misdeeds, he decided it was best for our case for us to lie down and agree to her terms. My father in law, who primarily practices criminal defense, was appalled that we agreed to supervised visitation. Save yourself the trouble and go with someone else.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
