Michael is as caring, tactful, and astute as his biography claims. To give a bit of context to our consultation, Michael and I know each other from patronizing the same business in our neighborhood. When it was time for my partner and I to move into an apartment together, I remembered that Michae...l was a lawyer that specialized in housing matters, and I reached out to him when I wasn't comfortable with a lot of the clauses in the lease that our broker/landlord had sent us. Immediately, Michael offered to hop on a call to address the many questions I had. We preceded to read the lease together line by line for the next hour and a half. After every section, Michael offered his perspective and suggested clarifying or additional language to aid in our protection as tenants. He was straightforward and direct in a manner that I could tell was rooted in his care for us as potential contract signees. At the end of our call he reminded me that despite strong tenant protections in NYC, I needed to enter into the contract with the idea that it would be upheld in court, if it ever came to that, as it was written. Michael's consultation prepared me for an hour long call with the broker/landlord that changed some of the sections of the superseding lease rider in our favor. This enabled my girlfriend and I to feel comfortable enough in the contract to sign it. We are excited to be moving into our new place next week, and Michael played an important role in making that possible.
