Michael Berg should not be in good standing still! I had a case in Port St. Lucie FL where he practiced. And hired him. He and mr.smith handled my original case in 2015 so when my case reopened for a VOP. My mom called and hired him. I had to be extradited from Baltimore to Florida. He said when I ha...d my first appearance I’d be released. That was a lie I sat in jail 11 months before I went to court. He had our family send him money to NY via western union. He then blocked all my family’s phone number we had to hire a lawyer from Baltimore just to get him to enter his appearance. And then on my actual court date I was transporting from jail to court he didn’t show. He sent another lawyer there to postpone my court date .I was not going back to jail to sit another 11 months for him not to show again so I hired the lawyer in the court room and he handled my case. I got time served. People in the court room apologized when they heard who my lawyer was PLEASE NEVER HIRE HIM HE WILL SCAM YOU!

He took our Money knowing he was closing his office and moving to Wyoming. In fact our money was deposited into a Wyoming account. Wouldn't return emails, phone calls texts. Filled for a change of plea without talking to our daughter. After we talked to him the week before and he said this case will ...be continued for months. It wasn't a fact if my daughter was guilty or not. She didn't want to go to trial and was willing to accept a fair plea. Instead Mr. Berg rushed her case so he could be done. We were flying in from Missouri and we were given a 3 week notice only because I looked it up on casenet. He would never show and would only send Mr Smith and that's not who we hired. No contract was ever signed. He got $5000 for do maybe 10 hours of work. This is the kind of attorney that give the good attorney's bad names. Since he would not return our calls we had no other option to hire another attorney. Since we were told by his partner Mr. smith that he was closing his office in 2 weeks and leaving the state. That would have been before my daughter sentencing. We are in the works of filing a claim with the Florida Bar association.
