An excellent rating doesn't properly summarize how good Nathan Hopkins and his firm, Weltchek, Mallahan, and Weltchek, handled our wrongful death suit case. After losing our father, my sister and I consulted a "highly recommended" firm in Baltimore, we were quickly turned away because our case was to...o questionable to take on. At this point we almost walked away from the idea of pursing further legal counsel. After hearing about another patient dying from a similar situation at the same hospital with the same surgeon we decided to try one more time. We contacted WM&W and met Nathan Hopkins. Within two days of our initial contact we were in his office explaining our situation. The initial consultation lasted for nearly two hours. When my sister and I left his office we knew that if this case was pursuable, Nathan was the man for the job. From start to finish it took nearly fifteen months to finalize the lawsuit. In that time Nathan kept in regular contact with my family, updating us along the way. He gathered supporting evidence from two separate experts in the field to solidify our case. Once everything was presented to the hospital, they quickly chose to settle this case. The results were beyond our dreams. Even though a monetary settlement was not our primary intent, the monetary settlement was higher than we ever expected. I can't stress how honest, upfront, and professional Nathan was throughout the entire process. Losing our father was the hardest lose I have had to endure. All along I felt the surgeon and hospital mishandled his care. Nathan confirmed my beliefs and hopefully prevented a repeat scenario for future patients and families.
