One of the worst attorneys I have ever hired

Did not fully divulge information to the court on a regular basis. Did not fully investigate the homeostasis of the children. Filed paperwork with opposing litigation's address as Maureen's client's address to try to stir up more litigation. Just seeks to get money from any parent in the case who has... income and is forced to pay. One of the worst if not the worst attorney I have ever experienced. Worst enough to not even bee called an attorney and should be investigated by the Illinois State BAR.

This parent is anonymous because they never hired me, I was not their attorney, and it is all lies. I am a court appointed Guardian ad Litem. This means I work for the court, not the parent. I do not file paperwork. I do not divulge information to the court. I do not investigate the homeostasis of children. I make recommendations to the court that reflect the law in relation to the best interest of the minor. This parent does not understand the law, does not understand the role of the Guardian ad Litem, and did not like the decisions the court made in their case, because what they wanted was contrary to the best interest of their children. This parent filed a complaint with the ARDC and no action was required because their complaint was false.

Very rude and dishonest

Absolutely horrible attorney. She does not care about anything. She will treat you like easy money, She didnt even remember who filed the motion first. She is rude, and manipulative. Please save yourself the trouble, money and time because you will lose everything.

This person is anonymous because they did not hire me and I was not their attorney. I am a Guardian ad Litem. This means I work for the court. I represent the best interest of the child. I do not represent the parent. This parent is responsible for their motion and knowing when they filed it. The issues I am responsible for are determined by the court and have nothing to do with which parent filed first. Even though this person won’t say who they are because nothing in their review is true, I believe I was paid by the County of Winnebago, not this parent, and at half the rate family attorneys charge.

Very unprofessional

I would not recommend Maureen Lawson. She does not care about the well being of the children. She says one thing in front of you and something totally different in from of the judge. She doesn't keep her word not even to the children. I don't recommend you give any money to this attorney.

This person is anonymous because they did not hire me and their review is a lie. I was the Guardian ad Litem. This means I work for the court. I am responsible for providing the court, recommendations that reflect the law, in relation to the best interest of the minor. I work long hours. I work for half the rate of other attorneys. I do this knowing that parents like this one, will lie and report you because they are disappointed with the Judge’s decision in their case. I do this work because I love children and absolutely care about their well-being.

Very Unprofessional and dismissive

I had a very unpleasant appointment with Attorney Lawson. She was very dismissive, and even went as far as to assume I could not afford services which I found odd since it was our first meeting. She misconstrued every word I said, she also didn’t try to understand the facts and didn’t take time to go... over evidence. I was very surprised of the lack of professionalism and by her attitude, and rudeness towards me. She seemed so out of touch with the case and it seemed she could care less as long as she got paid. I wouldn’t recommend her to touch any part of anyone’s case. How can she base her decisions and strategies off of word of mouth?

Although this person is anonymous, because their review is a lie, I know I did not do a consultation with this person, because I do not do consultations. I am a Guardian ad Litem. I am appointed by the court, not hired by a parent. I work for the court. I represent the best interest of the minor, which is often contrary to what a parent wants. The best interest of a child is based on putting the child’s needs and feelings first, before the needs and wants of a parent. As the Guardian ad Litem, I make recommendations. I do not make decisions. The Judge makes decisions. I do not base my recommendations on word of mouth. My recommendations are based on the law and information received from my investigation. I work long hours to ensure my investigation is thorough and based on facts and truth. I am never rude, dismissive, or unprofessional, to anyone I work with. I know as a Guardian ad Litem, parents like this one will lie because they do not like the Judge’s decisions in their case. I do it anyway because I care about children.
