Inappropriate and lazy...

Matthew M. Johnson, CA bar #261899 should not be able to maintain his license. My experience with this public defender was extremely disappointing. I felt misled about what he could and would do for my case. Throughout my representation, I received very little legal advice or meaningful communicat...ion, and it seemed like almost no work was being done on my behalf. Whenever I asked questions, I felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a client who deserved answers. I also asked for available public resources, including an investigator, that I believed could have helped my defense, but he refused to pursue them or work with me on those requests. Overall, I was left with the impression that maintaining a good relationship with the prosecutor was a higher priority than aggressively advocating for my interests. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this attorney to anyone seeking dedicated and proactive legal representation. He seemed more interested in offering his personal thoughts on the attractiveness of others involved in my case.
