Biography
Marvin Kirby Roberts III ("Trey" Roberts) grew up in Rockport, TX in a family of attorneys. He attended the University of Texas at Austin as a National Merit and Dedman Scholar where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Government and his Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business. After graduating, he moved to Geneva, Switzerland where he worked at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations and Other International Organizations as a member of the U.S. Delegations to the Biological Weapons Convention, Special Verification Committee (INF Treaty)/Joint Compliance and Inspections Committee (START and SALT Treaties), and Standing Consultative Commission (ABM Treaty) and earned his Master of Arts in International Relations. Subsequently, he spent three years in Washington, DC consulting the federal government as an international trade specialist. In 2004, he returned to Austin, TX to attend the University of Texas School of law where he was enrolled concurrently with his brother Justin Gardner Roberts. He was one of two students chosen to spend his third year of law school at the University of Edinburgh School of Law in Scotland where he concurrently earned his Master of Laws degree in addition to his Doctor of Jurisprudence.
