Lorin Gabriel Page

Lorin graduated with high honors from the University of Alabama School of Law.  During law school, he served on the Campbell Moot Court Board, the Journal of the Legal Profession, and was a Hugo Black Scholar.  Prior to that, he concentrated in English and Philosophy at the Florida Atlantic University Honors College.

Most recently, Lorin has worked in the corporate world as Vice President and General Counsel of a home medical equipment company.  In this capacity, he has managed staff, done strategic planning, negotiated contracts, and analyzed regulatory and statutory rules applicable to the health care field.  This experience has provided a firm understanding of healthcare law, including issues such as regulatory compliance, insurance coverage, Stark and anti-kickback laws, medical malpractice, and qui tam or whistle blower claims.

Since law school, Lorin has worked as a lawyer representing criminal and civil defendants.  Criminal justice is a particular passion of his.  He has helped juvenile defendants navigate the criminal justice process, and extensively researched matters of both state and federal criminal law.  In civil court, Lorin has helped with a number of issues, including landlord/tenant disputes, real estate contracts, advance directives, medical malpractice, and more.  He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the 28th District Bar Association, and the Young Lawyer's Division.

During law school, Lorin worked as a law clerk for two federal judges and a civil litigation defense firm.  His work in these positions included drafting social security disability opinions, researching federal law issues -- the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Sentencing Reform Act, the Interstate Land Sales Act, and many more.  This experience also gave him a great deal of insight into both the inner workings of a federal court room, and process of litigation in general.
