In August, 2010 I was stopped by an Illionois State Trooper. Upon approaching my window the Trooper alleged that I had been stopped for speeding and improper lane change and though I did not agree with allegations I cooperated with every request made by the Trooper, even agreeing to a request to enga...ge in a field sobriety test, that I successfully completed. Since I didn't agree with the initial allegations and refused the field breathalyzer test I was arrestedand charged with DUI.
I believe it's important to note that I am not from the Chicago are, but rather southwest Missouri in town to celebrate the marriage of a close friend. Needless to say the entire experience left me feeling powerless and defenseless against the charges being filed against me.
The overwhelming fear and anxiety associated with being charged with DUI and the life changing reprecutions almost proved to be too much to handle. That, until after receiving a referral from a home town attorney to contact Gainer & Gosch.
Upon first speaking with Lewis Gainer I was put at ease that we could achieve a positive outcome based on the specifics of the case. Lewis was reassuring and took the time to specifically explain each charge and any potential consequences. He also took the time to explain the judicial process for handing such a case in Illinois and though I was several hundred miles away he communicated sufficiently. With this being said I honestly believed that my side of the story would be adequately relayed giving way to what I felt to be the truth to be.
When my court date finally came around in October, 2010 Lewis was there waiting for me. Lewis came prepared and confident and though he knew it we were entering a true challenge, he held out a level positivity and confidence that reinforced my belief that I would have side of the story heard and defended.
Several different aspects surrounding the case, none more obvious than the several hundred miles distance from Chicago to Missori Lewis boldly requested and waived a jury trial in preference of facing a bench trial.
It was during the bench trial that Lewis truly shined and displayed his professionalism and command of legal knowledge. For a moment I felt that despite our best efforts there would be no way to beat the "system" and though the Prosecuting Attorney was savvy in his presentation, Lewis was able to prevail, resulting in the charge of DUI being dropped against me.
I have no doubts that that no other attorney could have better defended me in this case and provide the level of confidence that I believe must exist between an attorney and his client to be successful.
At the end of the road to success in the arena of DUI defense one can find Sir Lewis Gainer and I would recommend his service to anyone.
