Kirsten Hilde Smith DeNoma

Both as a former teacher and as an attorney, I have spent my entire career focusing on the needs of children and families.  In 2009, I graduated magna cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law.  While there, I clerked for the Washington County Public Defender's Office, Legal Aid's Housing Discrimination Law Project, and represented women clients on a variety of matters through The Reentry Clinic.  Upon graduation, I spent the next few years a business litigation associate with Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly in Minneapolis.   During that time, I also assisted clients on a pro bono basis in various criminal, housing and family law matters. 

After several years of planning and preparation, I launched The Advocacy House in 2014 as a resource for providing families with an alternative approach to legal services.  I am currently admitted to practice in both the State of Minnesota and the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. In addition, I am a qualified neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice and am listed on the Minnesota Statewide ADR - Rule 114 Neutrals Roster for Family Facilitative/Hybrid Processes in the following areas: Adoption, Child Custody, Child Support, Dissolution / Divorce, General Family, Parenting Time / Child Visitation, Parenting Time / Visitation Expeditor, Paternity, Post-Dissolution Matters, Spousal Maintenance, and Valuation of Property.
