Super helpful, so thankful we got Ms Prendergast!

We hired Ms Prendergast as a lawyer to help us on a civil restraining order. We debated on hiring a lawyer since we felt we had a solid case, but thank goodness we did! The other party had representation as well, and a little rough with the questions, but Ma Prendergast helped us before on what to ex...pect, and she handled everything for us. I didn't think I would get so flustered in court, but I'm glad we had the support of Ms Prendergast to help guide us along. We won our restraining order and we are so thankful for her help, professionalism, and guidance. I highly recommend.

Ms. Prendergast has been fighting and Winning for me for 6 years!

When I first consulted with Kim 6 yrs ago, I was a mother of 3 living in an abusive (physically & emotionally) marriage of over 10 yrs. Kim was extremely empathetic to all of us and worked very hard on my case, which was very complicated. My (ex)husband was Not cooperative at all which resulted in h...im receiving Move-out orders and an order of protection for me and the children. Kim and her team were able to stay composed and in control, even after courtroom outbursts and receiving personal threats from my Ex. Because of her efforts, the children and I were granted the legal protection we needed throughout the entire 2yr + divorce process. Kim and her staff handled the situation with sensitivity, empathy and caution, reaching out to other attorneys and researching law enforcement advisement when necessary. She was always available to me, and even though the bills added up, I feel she worked way beyond what I was charged for, and in the end it was worth every cent! My dissolution of marriage resulted with me receiving both full legal and physical custody of the children and my ex was ordered to a psychiatric evaluation, anger management and an alcohol evaluation. Non of which he completed in order to have supervised visitation. The original order of protection expired after 5 yrs, so I contacted Kim to renew and advise. Kim filled all necessary paperwork perfectly, guided me through the process and I now have Permanent Orders, but more importantly have peace of mind and have been able to move on and thrive in life. Unfortunately my kids do not have a relationship with their father, but we are Safe and Free from worry of harm. I owe my LIFE to Kim and I am forever grateful to her.

Paid for services we could have done ourselves

We met with Amanda for Custody who after stating our facts made it seem that we had a good case to fight for Physical Custody. Our case was than given to Kim. We would have gone Pro Se as we wouldn't believe anyone would have fought for our case as well as we would have and we were right, we could ha...ve done this better ourselves. We like to stay on top of things and this Office made us feel like we were a handful, although taking our money was not a problem. We did most of the work. We gathered the facts, pretty much put the case together for them with out their requests but we knew what we had to do and they would get upset with many emails from us full of facts, as we had a high conflict case. All they did for us was fill out and file forms for us, something we could have done ourselves. Kim showed up to court late twice. The last hearing she was almost an hour late, leaving us worried, stressed only to call us the the day before to pretty much tell us we had no chance in Physical Custody and to come up with a better visitation plan. Court day after being almost an hour late, got the other Party to agree to visitation except transportation. When our turn came with the Judge it was only 11am and we had the courtroom to ourselves, we had the time to present and fight our Custody Case, but instead, Kim only brought up the Transportation disagreement and didn't argue it as that was something we really wanted after having to give up the fight for Physical Custody. All the hard work my Husband and I did, the great case we had that we would have liked to have had a chance to present and fight all for nothing. In the end Kim got the Mother to agree on some visitation, and that was that. We are very disappointed with the outcome as we spend thousands of dollars with her Law Firm only for them to fill out some docs and to file them, something we were intelligent enough to do ourselves. We only hired an Attorney because we didn't want to get taken advantage of being in California and My husband being a Father fighting for Custody and this state being Pro Mother. We put so much work, energy, money, time, stress, you name it into this case and we feel cheated and robbed as nothing went as we planned. Lawyers are not always the best benefit, the other party had no Lawyer and still we had no advantage. We are unsatisfied with the work this Lawyer and her Law Office did for us and I recommend you do a lot of research before hiring any lawyer. Kim's office does not have many reviews, I tried to look for some before hiring them, but after meeting with Amanda from Dorado & Dorado ALPC we felt confident in her confidence in having a good chance at getting Custody, but of course typically lawyers will tell you what you want to hear to get you as a client and than results are nothing like that Consultation! Good Luck if you choose Kim or her Law Firm. We would have been better off Pro Se and most people that I talk to have said the same.
