also known as Kevin Nicholas Wooden
I am an employment law and civil litigation attorney serving clients throughout Northern California, including the Sacramento region and surrounding foothills. I help businesses and individuals understand their legal options, resolve disputes, and make informed decisions about the issues that affect their work and livelihoods.
My practice focuses on employment litigation and counseling, business and contract disputes, and related civil matters. My employment experience includes discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage-and-hour disputes, and claims under California’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). I also advise on workplace policies, employee discipline and separations, internal investigations, employment agreements, and compliance.
My background includes both private law firm practice and in-house legal roles, including serving as Senior Legal Counsel at Pacific Coast Companies. Working directly with business leaders and human resources professionals has shaped how I approach legal problems. I understand that a legal strategy must account for the costs, operational demands, and personal concerns involved—not simply the legal arguments.
I begin by listening carefully, understanding the facts, and identifying what my client wants to accomplish. From there, I provide candid assessments, explain the available options, and develop a strategy suited to the circumstances. I look for opportunities to resolve disputes efficiently while preparing to advocate firmly when litigation is necessary. Throughout the process, I value clear communication, sound judgment, and professional relationships.
My broader litigation background includes construction defects, real estate disputes, personal injury, insurance defense, and commercial claims. That experience gives me a useful perspective when employment and business disputes involve overlapping legal issues.
I earned my law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and also studied law at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Arizona State University and am licensed to practice law in California, Arizona, and Colorado.
Outside my practice, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our four children, playing the cello, and being outdoors. Family, faith, and community are central to my life and inform the care and respect I bring to my work.
