Kathryn Lee Korslund

Katey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minored in Spanish while also receiving an additional major in International Studies with a concentration in World Politics and Policy from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in 2000. Her desire to practice law began while working as a paralegal on the intellectual property team at Hunton & Williams in Richmond, Virginia. She earned her Juris Doctorate in 2005 from Appalachian School of Law. While attending law school Katey clerked for the Honorable Judge Patrick Johnson in the General District Court of Buchanan County, Virginia.

After being admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 2006, she became an associate attorney with Sykes, Bourdon, Ahern & Levy in Virginia Beach, Virginia specializing in real estate transactions and secured creditors' rights. Subsequently, she was admitted to practice before the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Eastern and Western District of Virginia.

From 2011 to 2017 Katey served as a partner, owner, and attorney for Korslund & Korslund, P.C. During her time there, she represented indigent criminal defendants in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, while also serving as Guardian ad litem for children in Chesapeake, Virginia. In 2018, she began focusing her practice on immigration and other civil matters and was admitted to practice before the U.S. Immigration Court in 2019.
