Biography
Kathleen M. Hassett focuses her practice on domestic relations and family law matters. Ms. Hassett represents clients in Circuit Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts in all of Northern Virginia. She has successfully represented clients in protective order hearings and has experience in matters regarding child custody, visitation and support; spousal support; and the negotiation and preparation of marital agreements and property settlement agreements. Ms. Hassett is passionate about obtaining the best possible outcome for her clients and works tirelessly as their advocate.
Ms. Hassett received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at North CarolinaStateUniversity and her Juris Doctor at the George Mason University School of Law, where she was Vice President of the Women's Law Association and a member of the Association for Public Interest Law. She is currently a member of the Virginia State Bar, the Fairfax Bar Association and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association family law sections.
Ms. Hassett dedicates time to pro bono legal services representing domestic violence victims in protective order hearings in the District of Columbia Superior Court and was named in the 2014 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll for her commitment to equal access to justice.
Ms. Hassett was raised in Northern Virginia and is committed to serving her community. She enjoys volunteering at local elementary schools and was chair of the committee to improve and revitalize her local community park.
