Katerina Housos

I had just turned 19 when I first consulted with Katerina about wanting to get my job back since being fired shortly after having been sexually harassed and assaulted by an assigned client at my then company. Although I had spoken with a few other attorneys, the display of little to no em...pathy left me feeling ashamed, unsure, alone and overwhelmed. However, Ms. Housos was a breath of fresh air. I immediately found comfort in the slow pacing of her tone as we went over the facts of the case. She amiably answered my plethora of questions and addressed every concern about possible hypothetical scenarios. Taking a leap of faith was one of the most challenging parts of the process. But, I can undoubtedly say that I would have never followed through without someone like Ms. Housos on my team. My case was particularly complicated as proving liability for emotional distress is challenging. And for a client like me who is a Sex Trafficking and Abuse Survivor, it's easy to feel powerless and hopeless. But, looking back, I can conclude that working with someone trauma-informed was imperative. I am grateful that Ms. Housos helped me navigate the intricacies of Mysoginistic and Racist workplace cultures that would stop at nothing To absolve themselves of the blame. All while recommending the best TV shows to watch and books to read while pursuing residential treatment for PTSD and an Eating Disorder. After almost three years of negotiations, pain, tears, and trauma, I came to a mutually beneficial agreement with the defendants. So now I'm completing my bucket lists.
