Julie M. Healy

So I live in New Jersey and received a speeding ticket in Maine... I found a website that referred a bunch of Lawyers, but Julie was the only one who was willing to take my case, even though it was in another part of Maine!!! She is super communicative and easy to get a hold of, and helped explain ...the entire process for me to make it easy to understand! And she went to court to represent me so that I didn't have to drive the 10 hours to court and then 10 hours back home!!!! I received a ticket in a speed trap in OOB, Maine on local roads. Coming from Massachusetts I knew that the fine itself was a minor issue and that if convicted, the points for the next six years would cost me substantial money. I searched for an attorney on line and called several. Peter Cyr's office..., in Portland, ME was the only office where an attorney and not an assistant would talk to me. I hired Peter and he turned the case over to his colleague, Julie Healy. Julie was outstanding in her communications to me keeping me up to date on every transaction and issue. She represented me in court and prior to the actual hearing was able to negotiate with the police officer such that the case would be "filed" which essentially means dismissed, assuming I do not get another traffic violation in the next six months. I did have to pay a filing fee equal to the original ticket. I would highly recommend Julie Healy to anyone who chooses to contest a traffic ticket. She was professional, personable, and took my case seriously even though it was not a criminal issue. One point to be aware, the fee to this law office was high in my opinion ($ 800) but this was in line with all the other law offices in the area that I called. Still, Having had a similar situation about 10 years ago in Colorodo, and still being a MA resident, I only paid $ 250 then.

Julie went above and beyond her legal duties as my criminal defense lawyer. She was able to get my sentence cut from 14 days in jail to 48 hours in jail. Every move for the case she made she consulted me with me first and explained as to why she was taking that route vs another route. She was able... to give me advice on how to prove to the ADA that the crime I was being prosecuted was out of character for me. Julie, unlike other attorney's I've had would actually take time out of her day to talk to me about the case at hand and gave me legal advice on a driving case. Julie's response time to email's and phone calls was with in the day if not that day the next. She actually cares for her clients and doesn't see them as just another paycheck. Julie puts her heart into her job and her respect for her clients is unbelievable. Julie goes above and beyond any expectations I had and has even gone out of her way to help me with turning around my life. She truly loves what she does and it shows throughout her work, and personality. I would and have recommended her to others who have needed a great lawyer and will continue to use her as my lawyer or to consult her in my future.
