Jonathan Mendoza and Empire Law, Inc. saved my life and directly impacted the lives of my husband, children, parents, sister, and the community I live in. I was stopped while re-entering the country and told that I needed to appear in immigration court. I had charges from over 7 years ago for drug... possession and shop lifting. In court my public defender never explained to me that pleading guilty would affect my immigration status as a permanent resident with a green card. I've lived in the USA since I was 2, I'm now 34. I have 2 children who are US citizens, along with a husband who is a US citizen, and since my arrests I've become a substance abuse counselor for parolees- I've literally dedicated my entire life to helping others and trying to stop of the process of substance abuse, untreated mental illness, and recidivism, so this was all a HUGE shock to me. I had no clue how pleading guilty to those charges seven years ago would mean me getting deported to a country I have no ties to. From the second I contacted them I was treated with the utmost respect and explained the entire process I would need to undergo to vacate my old charges so that I didn't get deported. Mr. Mendoza's staff were kind, courteous, and EXTREMELY knowledgeable and thorough. They answered all of my questions and helped me every single step of the way. Yesterday I finally went to court and the DA not only agreed to not contest the motions, but she actually SUPPORTED me having my charges vacated, thanks to the hard work and mountains of evidence Jonathan Mendoza and his team collected to support my motions. I sobbed throughout court because I am so grateful and relieved that Mr. Mendoza was able to get all of my charges vacated, which means I can stay in the country with my family and continue to work towards helping my community. I am forever grateful to Jonathan and his team. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for what they've done for me and my family. If I could give them 10000 stars on this review I would. Highly recommend utilizing Jonathan for services ! He’s very knowledgeable and is very candid with his clients. We were looking for an attorney in the Indio area that not only specialized in criminal law but also in immigration services . My loved one caught a case in Indio and we were concerned this... could effect immigration status . So we needed somebody knowledgeable on both aspects of the law . Although it was not an immigration case , it was very important that our attorney could anticipate how it could effect him in the future . The moment I first spoke to Jonathan I felt confident that he was the person to go to . He listened and took his time in hearing all aspects of the case before any money was ever even transferred . Other attorneys do not like to go in depth with potential clients , but not Jonathan. He answered all questions and took his time. After retaining him , we were never left in the dark , and Jonathan always responded in a timely manner . He always kept us in the loop and explained all possible outcomes and how that would effect us in the future. We were made aware that a felony charge was not acceptable and Jonathan did not quit until the charge was dropped to a misdemeanor. Even after completion of the case , Jonathan reached out to assist us in all closing matters, remind us on upcoming due dates etc. The whole ordeal was obviously a difficult process, but we believe Jonathan helped us to get the best possible outcome given the situation . We found Jonathan Mendoza through Yelp, and he was the third and last attorney we sat down with when we were shopping for lawyers. He made us feel at ease in that he clearly explained the different paths that we would potentially have to go through. The other lawyers we had previously met with in per...son were either 1) SHADY or 2) did not seem engaged enough in our case for us to confidently hire them. Having a straightforward, honest and knowledgeable attorney to represent us was non-negotiable as we did not want to waste ANY time or money. And we are glad we went with Empire Law as we are now highly satisfied customers! We were looking to Petition for an Alien Relative (USCIS I-130 form) and we had a slightly complex case. Both the attorney and his SUPER paralegal, Gabriela, are extremely knowledgeable in the realm of immigration law and they efficiently guided us through the entire process. Not only did they accommodate to our availability, but they clearly instructed which documentation to gather in support of our application despite having met in person only a handful of times. They filled out a BIG stack of paperwork on our behalf and our interview appointment arrived within 3 months of them submitting our application. In addition, they had a representative accompany us to our interview with USCIS in San Bernardino. Our interview went very well, and while it was partially due to the kind immigration official who interviewed us, we had been fully prepared with the documentation we would be asked for, had been mock interviewed by our legal team and our application was accurately filled out. Final (minor) amendments were clearly marked in advance of the interview for the official to review and approve. The overall process was a lot smoother than we had anticipated it would be before we started- thanks to this awesome duo! The price was right based on the services we received from them. There was a minimal consultation fee, but it was applied towards our balance. We have recommended their services to our friends and family. If we ever need immigration attorneys again, we will without a doubt go back!

Jonathan Mendoza is amazing, he first was a great public defender and after he started his own practice I sought out his legal services once more and again was amazing with how he handled my situation. His practice is professional and treated me as if I was family. He answered all my legal questions ...and steered me and my case in the right direction ending in a successful closed case.
