Biography
As a young man I retained legal counsel for my divorce and for estate planning and also dealt with attorneys who represented other people. I felt I could be more empathetic and improve the standard of practice, so went to law school to become the lawyer I would have wanted to hire to represent me. My law practice has been a solo practice since day one, and my wife of 34 years has been my sole office staff. I have served as a temporary judge or court commissioner in San Juan County Superior and District Courts as well as Thurston County Superior Court. We have 3 children and 7 grandchildren between us. Our outside interests include hiking, skiing and golf, as well as volunteering in our community.
