On a recent federal case, I was appointed to have Mr. Gillette defend me. As the process commenced, it appeared as though he was simply relaying what the prosecution presented and updating me along the way. There was no discussion about how I would like to handle my defense nor any suggestions regard...ing a negotiation. I’m not sure how much experience he has with Federal cases, but he certainly made some minimal (however very apparent) errors while in court. Upon reviewing the Plea, I brought attention to the fact that we didn’t even attempt to fight the abundantly excessive consequences. Mr. Gillette handled a delicate civil matter for me. His interview provided me with clear information on the process and what to gather to be fully prepared for trial. I was clearly wronged but it was not entirely clear that I could get the relief needed from the court but he was able to outline t...he things necessary to support the claim. On trial day he was able to get my desired result without a trial. It was an entirely satisfactory outcome.
