Today this field involves a great deal of examination of claims function and analysis of how we did our jobs. Fairness to the customer is the most important issue we have. So long as we can say that we viewed from the customer's perspective and we were fair, we should be fine.

Prior to law school, I had held every liability position in the claims arena, through manager and regional liability expert. I have handled auto claims, in one form or another, for my entire career.

I have personally written several of the motorcycle policies in use at our company. Currently, I am the counsel for all 10 Regions to call in the event of a question relative to motorcycle coverage or litigation. This has always been an intersting part of our business.

I have a huge interest in elder law. When my own mother took ill, there was just one "professional" after another with his or her hand out, looking for cash. Elders need protection from people like that.
