James Baldock received a Bachelor of Business Administration with honors from Trent University in 2006. Then in 2009, he received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon School of Law.
While clerking for Judge Carp during law school, James saw firsthand the disadvantage people face when they represent themselves in court. Cases that should have been easy were not, and those that should have won, lost. For the rest of law school James volunteered for the Domestic Violence clinic and the legal aid clinic, helping to ensure that victims of domestic violence were represented in court and received the restraining orders they needed.
After graduation, James worked for Legal Aid Services of Oregon until 2012. Legal Aid allowed him to help extremely low income Oregonians with their legal troubles. There, he tried a wide variety of cases, including family law, landlord/tenant law, elder law, government benefits law, and consumer law. These years provided ample negotiation and litigation experience.
In September 2012, James created Eugene Legal, a law firm based in Eugene. James has years of experience and a proven ability to handle complex cases. Eugene Legal's special payment structure allows James to represent people in court who could not normally afford an attorney.
