I went to nursing school 15 years ago thinking that I would always be a nurse caring for patients at the bedside. After working in the operating room and the pre-op/PACU, I decided that I could do more for nurses, patients, and the healthcare system in general by working to change healthcare for the better as a legal advocate and social justice change agent. A patient’s story about poor medical treatment that led to an amputation inspired me to attend law school and be the voice for the voiceless.
I am passionate about improving medical access to marginalized communities, working with providers to help protect their licenses and interests, and educating the community on the options that are available to them when seeking care and medical treatment. Additionally, as a graduate of Howard University and the Howard University School of Law, my practice is deeply rooted in social justice, and I serve as an architect of social change through my practice as both a nurse and an attorney. My experience puts me in a unique position to understand the complexities of both the healthcare and legal system. I am passionate about birth and reproductive justice, providing quality and culturally competent care to marginalized communities, and engaging healthcare providers in the political process to create impactful policy changes.

Irnise is the best!
Irnise is so knowledgeable, approachable, kind, caring and fun. I feel so taken care of when working with her, and she's so thoughtful, attentive and proactive. I've worked with other lawyers before, and working with Irnise is a breath of fresh air.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for trusting me with your important legal matters.
