I was arrested and jailed for protecting my job at the salvation army family store, on Brady St. It was a Friday night and I had to work the next day as a PT donation attendant at the Salvation army, a job I loved. I was 53 years old, homeless, disabled and handicapped, sleeping in my truck I saved u...p to buy for shelter to get off the streets and out of the woods to sleep, while saving money to get an efficiency apartment and work my way up. The Salvation army is a beacon in the community but so badly abused in the middle of the night because of NO lighting in the parking lot and from the building, to detour people from destroying the donation box with donations left by caring people throughout the night and early morning hours. On this night I caught 2 men that took the fence apart at the corner pole to break into the receiving dock area, YES people are so bold to do so, even with a camera there in the dark(no night vision). I caught them behind the building with a mountain bike that they had stolen from from receiving (privacy fenced in area) and was putting a different seat on it. I forgot my phone in the truck so I couldn't call police to assist just telling them to not come back and get on down the road with the bike. I walked back and got inside my truck puffing on my vape waiting for the men to leave so I could go to sleep. After about 10 minutes both men came riding past my truck threatening if I was there the next night that they would"cut me up". I chased them across the street in my truck and through the fire station parking lot until I couldn't get through to the other side. I was armed with a pocket knife to protect myself against the burglars if confrontation arose by chasing them. I'm handicapped so I couldn't run to catch them, so I let them get away once again. On my way walking from the back of the fire station to my truck a fireman stood inside the building telling me to put down the knife, I told him NO. He had called the police already and they arrived on scene telling me to put down the knife so I did so. I was then thrown to the ground face first and both officers jumped on my back and handcuffed me, i didn't resist what so ever. They put me in the squad car and the fireman picked up the pocket knife from the sidewalk and handed it to the officer. I sat in the car as they all put together a lie about what really happened, because nobody asked me why, or what I was doing there. They towed my truck and took me to jail with 4 charges. Assault on peace officer's, interference with official acts(bodily injury), driving with no registration, and driving with a suspended license. I didn't harm anyone or threaten anyone in the incident as the police described. I was in jail and Spencer had the driving charges dropped and swept under the rug, and 2 charges I had NOTHING to do with. I did over 90 days in jail losing everything I had . Spencer saw the footage as paper thin as it was and didn't help me at at to shake 2 felony charges brought against me, so I plead out of jail with 2 violent charges. Nobody, not even Spencer wanted or even asked me my side of the story the whole way through. I was released from jail and found out I was on the news about the incident from a friend of mine. I watched the footage and even more lies came to surface. Just watch( Brin Sansale Fire station No3)
I can't possess a firearm or vote now because of what they said!
I can't get low income housing or a hand up now because of the incident. I lost my SS because of it and I'm still homeless but have little support from family. Spencer did nothing to help me from illegal charges as my human rights were ignored and trampled. I was arrested for feelings and thoughts of a fireman with NO discussion. Spencer was terrible to me !
