Biography
I have always known that criminal defense was the field of law for me. I enjoy being in the courtroom. I also know that each case is different and unique. One must create a specific game plan for each case and make sure that the clients story is told and a picture is painted that gets them the best possible result. This can either be from Plea bargaining with the prosecutor by humanizing the case and the client and showing them that they are a person that may have made a mistake but deserves a second chance. It is important when plea-bargaining to make sure that any deal taken is not excessive. I always start by looking at the potential exposure of the crime based on the penal code then attempt to work it down based on my clients life story and the facts of the case. Often times you can work out a deal that includes a diversion program that results in a full dismissal after completion of certain terms. At the same time I have no problem standing up for my clients when they are innocent and making sure that their case is dismissed if I feel that the prosecutor has met their burden of proof. This can be done many ways by providing witness statements,hiring expert’s,or taking it to a jury of 12 people in the community proving my clients innocence. Sometime one case will require all of the above sometimes Less, either way I prepare for whatever it takes to get the best outcome from my client.
