Biography
I am a proud to have graduated from St. John’s University School of Law in Jan. 1999 (my last semester was in Dec. 1998). I am currently exploring a career change, so even though my profile will remain mostly the same on this Avvo platform, I have not provided consultations with any potential clients in the recent past. Prior to my law school enrollment, I graduated from New York University (College of Arts & Science) where I was a Double Major in these 2 subjects: 1) Spanish Literature; 2) Political Science.
This might sound like a longshot, but if anyone reads my Avvo profile in response to any change-of-career position that I've applied for, please read the reviews that my clients have left about me on my profile. I am currently on the Alumni Board of Directors at the law school I used to attend. Prior to attending law school, I attended New York University and I was a double major in Political Science and Spanish language studies. I graduated from NYU in 1994.
In addition to practicing law, I am also enrolled at Bethel Seminary of the East and someday (meaning before I get sent to an old-folks’ home), I hope to obtain a Master’s Degree in Divinity Studies.
I am proud to be a Baptist and I advertise in the Shepard’s Guide, which is a ‘Yellow Pages’ for Christians of all denominations. There is a link on this website that will show you what my ad looks like. This ad helps to describe the kind of person that I am and how I treat my clients.
I am a life-long resident of Long Island. I graduated from the Herricks School District in 1990.

Replied last April 11, 2019Thank you for posting this review. Sometimes I will come into contact with a person where that person only needs advice & guidance instead of having to hire a lawyer. I am glad to do this & on occasion, I will ask him/her to write a review for me using whatever words & language that the person wants. It is very true that when it comes to lawyers, many of them write their own reviews. I have a woman working at my office who worked for a Long-Island based Divorce lawyer for 2 decades & she told me that this lawyer hired a kid to write some positive reviews for him. The first letter of that lawyer's first name is 'K.'

Replied last March 25, 2019Thank you Josh for writing these nice comments. For anyone who reads this, Josh & his wife are a young couple that I can tell are very happy together. In my 18+ years of law practice, I have represented many young clients (under 30 yrs old) & it is very true that some young clients are immature, not dependable & can change their minds without warning. But some young people such as Josh & his wife are very reliable & easy to work with. It's a reminder for me that every client is different & unique & each case comes with its own challenges. I am very grateful to have met Josh, who did not grow up in the Northeast & his wife, who are now raising young children. Many blessings to your family & thank you again.

Responsible and committed lawyer

“I was issued a 'public censure' in 2013 for something that happened in 2008-09 when I donated money to a woman who was elderly & sick & always complained about needing money for surgery on her back (she did not have health insurance at the time & I don't know if she is still alive). This was a matter that involved an allegation of my sharing a fee that I had earned with a non-lawyer. This situation did Not involve any allegations of legal malpractice at all.”
