Representative Clients and Cases:
Commonwealth Insurance Company – Heather represented Commonwealth in a coverage and bad faith case against other insurers who failed to participate in the settlement and defense of one of Commonwealth’s insureds. She has also been hired by Commonwealth to provide defenses for Commonwealth’s general contractor insureds. Some such work required Heather to defend property and personal injury claims asserted by property owners while initiating and prosecuting cross-claims against the subcontractors who performed the defective work.
The City of Seattle - Heather has represented the City of Seattle in some of its most significant cases over the past decade, including multi-million dollar class actions arising from the WTO riots and other multi-million dollar class actions alleging profiling and constitutional violations. She has also represented the City of Seattle and Seattle police officers in cases arising from officer-involved fatalities and abatement actions.
The City of Des Moines – Heather defended negligence claims against the City of Des Moines in the highly-publicized case concerning the Vili Fualaau-Mary Kay LeTourneau relationship.
Ledcor Group of Companies – Heather has defended construction defect claims against Ledcor arising from alleged property loss, including million dollar claims involving water intrusion and mold.
Farmer’s Insurance Group, Fireman’s Fund, Traveler’s, Western Surety – Heather has represented such companies during their investigations into possibly fraudulent claims. She has also been hired by such companies on many occasions to provide litigate on behalf of their insureds.
Alcoa, Inc. – Heather has represented Alcoa, Inc. in a multitude of Washington and California-based cases alleging personal injury and wrongful death claims based upon products liability and premises liability theories.
