MEN BEWARE

I hired Ms. Brunson because she was a "Fathers Rights" attorney. This was a somewhat easy divorce, no property or assets. So far I've paid over $10,000 (YES, TEN THOUSAND US DOLLARS) and after over 14 months my son is still not DIVORCED! Ms. Brunson has a problem with communication, does not read ...emails completely, and ignores client insight and wishes. Both parties have agreed to several items, Ms. Brunson takes it upon herself to make changes that are neither wanted or agreed upon by the parties, and NOT needed in the decree. thus FIVE decree drafts to date!!! So much for my son's rights. Oh and Ms. Brunson no longer wants me to be a part of knowing anything about the divorce and has told my son that if I'm involved she'll drop him as a client!!!! Unreal

Hard to contact / Did not answer calls

I hired Mrs Brunson to file for a divorce. After the (free) consult. I signed a contract for her to file a divorce decree. She filed it 3 days late and my spouse almost filed first because of this.We decided to go through our lawyers for paperwork;however, Brunson never returned his lawyers calls, so I... ended up getting served by my husbands lawyer at my house in front of my son.(not something you want, and definitely because your lawyer isn't returning the other lawyers calls). She not only didn't return the lawyers calls, but mine as well. I called/text and never got any return. Thankfully, I only paid $600 of the $2500 retainer and I informed her I wasn't going to pay anymore until she responded to me. I ended up firing her and filed a end of contract on the site she uses to bill/file paperwork, because she never returned my calls. I only had 20 days to fire, and find a new lawyer so that I could meet the time set on the served paperwork (again because of Brunson inability to follow through). I never got my $600 back and Im fortunate it was only $600 and not $2500. She did maybe an hours worth of work and my new lawyer had to clean up her mess. She isn't worth it! I paid $125 for a 2 hr consult with my new lawyer and I got more from the initial call to schedule the consult than I got from Mrs Brunson. She works with unbundled (website for cheap lawyers) stay away and pay for a consult. Do your research too there are a bunch of lawyers who will just take your money and run. My new lawyer has where 50% is refunded if not used in their contract. Make sure your getting your monies worth.
