Alan Keith Fertel

Though under no obligation, and with goodwill, my family communicated detailed information and documents to Alan K. Fertel concerning estate assets that were to be disbursed to a relative of his. Rather than a “thank you” for bringing his attention to something that would benefit his relative, Fertel... launched into months of harassing emails in which, despite complete ignorance of matters, he leveled at us groundless, unspecified allegations of malfeasance (backed with NO evidence). He demanded private documents and financial records that did not involve or affect his relative, and which he had no legal right to view. When we refused, he threatened subpoenas, depositions, and a lawsuit. We were bullied into retaining and using an attorney to pacify Fertel. In the end, after going in repeated circles, we formally reiterated what he had been told and shown, from the start, regarding the estate assets — and, without one conciliatory word, he made a permanent retreat. Unjustifiably aggressive and hostile. Unethical and unprofessional.
