Eric T. Krening

The one other review - negative - of this lawyer compelled me to write this review. I also hired Mr. Krening for a traffic matter. He was very knowledgable, professional, considerate and courteous. In our very first phone call, he went through his "standard" questionaire and explained the limited ...standard options - fight it, plead, negotiate, deferal... He was very clear. He was also very clear that the choice was ultimately mine. I find it hard to believe that anyone could have gone through his brief Q & A and explanation and be in any way confused. Additionally, I know that, at the time I hired Mr. Krening, he was working through an insurnace company that my (large) company hired to provide legal services. That means that all or many of his traffic clients were not even paying for his services beyond the low premium taken by our company. As for the business about the "deferal" Mr. Krening made it clear that "deferals are sometimes the best options, but that it is up to the client to choose and that after the deferal is taken, the representation is over and the client must make their own payments to the courts - duh! Bottom line, he did a great job for me and I would highly recommend him. In fairness, I know the legal system is scary, especially if you haven't been in it before, but there is only so much a lawyer can do if you were busted speeding etc... The real problem is law enforcement nailing us to make $$$.

I contacted Eric for a speeding ticket. He's fairly slow replying to his e-mails and he claimed that he replied before but the e-mail was lost! He kept me totally uninformed about the process or the next steps. He leaves things to the last minute, for example a couple of days before the court date..., he told me that we should request a deferral because we dont stand a chance, even though I sent him the police report a month earlier. After requesting a deferral he did not give me any information about what needs to be done. After calling the court they told me that they sent me a letter to some address which was actually his address instead of mine so I almost lost the deferral too! I'd never recommend him. Also a friend of mine hired him for a speeding ticket (around the same time I was working with him), and when she called him a couple of days before the court date, he told her that he won't be able to be there, and she should go and request a deferral herself!
