Procedural Negligence Resulted In Contested Quiet Title Action

I hired Douglas C. McKillip to prosecute a quiet title action on my property. Initially, the case appeared successful, and I received a judgment in my favor. However, two years later, and adjacent property owner filed a motion to set aside the judgment, claiming they had not been served in the initia...l quiet title action and asserting an adverse possession claim involving a shed that neighbor knowingly built upon property they did not own. When the motion was filed, Doug declined to continue representing me. The court ultimately granted the motion to set aside the judgment stating, that the neighboring property owner should have been served in the original action. The court also found that the plat attached to the quiet title complaint was INCORRECT. As a result, I have been left facing significant additional legal expenses and ongoing litigation that I believe could have been avoided. based on my experience, I have serious concerns about the quality of the legal representation i received and whether the case was handled with appropriate care and attention to detail. For these reasons, I CANNOT RECCOMMEND DOUGLAS CARL MCKILLIP to anyone seeking representation in any real estate matter.

"I endorse this lawyer. In addition to handling criminal and domestic matters, Doug is a talented real estate investor and former elected official with great people and business skills. He also knows Athens juries and is a good choice for local counsel for any out-of-town lawyer who has a case there. Go Dogs!"
