Diane Leslie Nickelberg

This will be a long review, if you want something brief: listen to me now and thank me later and do yourself a favor and call Diane . . . Over the past several years we've completed several closings with Diane and her staff. She helped us with our first home purchase (coop) in Jackson Heights, Qu...eens, back in 2012 and its subsequent sale in 2016. Having had a great initial experience with her, we used Diane for the purchases and sales of our 2nd (condo), 3rd (coop), and 4th (condo) homes. What really impressed us during our initial transaction with Diane was that she was head and shoulder better than the attorney representing the sellers. With our first home purchase, we were obviously anxious during the entire process and especially at closing. But all our concerns were readily eased by Diane's professionalism, expert knowledge, and high level of personal attention. She has an amazing approach that is easy going, not condescending, and truly very supportive and helpful. With the other closings, whether we were buying or selling, it was also very clear that Diane was the better attorney without exception and I am including the attorney representing the coops and condos. We've seen the extremes of real estate attorneys, more recently, a couple (new home buyers) were left alone at the closing table with their attorney calling in and not able to provide the support his clients desperately needed. The couple was clearly uneasy and nervous as they were making the biggest purchase of their lives. In that instance, Diane stepped up and offered to help answer any of their questions, because that's the type of person Diane is and the level of service she provides. Diane was so committed to having us close that she selflessly took it upon herself to help educate the buyers on the closing process and the documents they were signing - simply amazing! Finally, if price is an issue or a major determinant in your choice of a real estate attorney, I would suggest that you get what you pay for and that Diane is more than fair with her fees. For the level of service she provides and the ease of mind during such a stressful event, she is more than worth it and is an extreme value. My wife has made me vow to no more sales and purchases for a while, 4 homes in 8 years is definitely a lot, but whenever we are ready to sell and/or buy again, Diane will be our only choice for superior real estate legal services.

Ms. Nickelberg is careless and cavalier. She did a terrible job handling our case. She does not do her due diligence in looking up all details and potential problems with the property at hand. She acts like you are bothering her if you try to email or call her. She acts as if you are outrageous i...n asking for credits. She does not fight for her clients, and lets the other side take advantage. Her office is disorganized and doesn't know how to organize their paperwork. Overall she is a terrible real estate lawyer.
