David Robert Allen

David is an Attorney on our High-Skilled Immigration Services team working with clients from a variety of research, academic, and business fields who are seeking visas and green cards in the EB-1A Extraordinary Ability, EB-1B Outstanding Professor/Researcher, EB-2 National Interest Waiver (NIW) and O-1 Extraordinary Ability immigration categories. David works closely with clients in the self-petition context, as well as employers in the employer-sponsored processes, and he offers a unique skill-set to identify creative strategies for cases that may otherwise be overlooked.

Before joining Ellis Porter, David worked as an Attorney in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the high-skilled immigration field and played a key role in managing the legal strategies for thousands of EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-2 NIW and O-1 cases.

In the course of managing this high volume of applications, David soon realized that personally-customized EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-2 NIW and O-1 strategies consistently get better results than using a one-size-fits-all template approach, and this inspired him to co-found Immigration Advocates, PLLC with John Goslow and Andy Ingebritson in July 2017. The firm's mission was to enhance each client's experience and improve case outcomes by focusing more on truly understanding their unique professional achievements, and then developing personally-customized case strategies that highlight those achievements in the most compelling way.

Ellis Porter shares this philosophy, so it made perfect sense for David and his attorney colleagues to join forces with Ellis Porter to create our High-Skilled Immigration Services team.

Outside the office, David likes to spend his free time traveling, both near and far. He also enjoys live music, art exhibits, festivals of all kinds, and various lecture series. David is constantly curious to learn about history, science, and anything that would give him an advantage at trivia games.
