Lack or Respresentation

A couple of years ago I hired Attorney Cody Gibson to represent me in a legal criminal case. I had all of the evidence to prove that I was innocent. I submitted all of this information to my attorney. Every time that we went to court he was unprepared and literally seemed to read over all of my in...formation while in court. He was never prepared for my case or set up meetings to discuss anything with me. While in court he did not tell me that I had the option to go to trial. In fact, he did not tell me anything at all. He told me that the other person was going to plead guilty and that would be it. My attorney stood beside and court and did not defend me or say anything at all. To make a long story short, when I went back to court a couple of months later to find out if I was convicted or not because my attorney said that I was not. However, something did not feel right. I found out that I did have one. I also found out that my emails and texts messages where never even submitted to the court. I was told that I would not even have a record if the court had been allowed to see my evidence. I would not recommend this person for any type of criminal case.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
