Beth Elaine Allen

Beth E. Allen attended Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.  She graduated in May, 1997 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science with minors in Biology and Field Biology.  During her undergraduate years she was an active member of Mortar Board, the National Biological Honor Society Beta Beta Beta, as well as other academic and social groups.  During her senior year of college she served as an intern with TRAFFIC and the World Wildlife Fund in Washington, D.C.   

Following graduation from Ohio Northern she attended the University of Dayton School of Law in Dayton, Ohio.  While at UDSL she served as a judicial extern to Justice Deborah L. Cook, with the Ohio Supreme Court, and attended a summer semester at the University College of London in London, England.  During law school Beth was active in several student organizations including student government, the Moot Court Board, and the Law Clinic.   

After graduating from law school Beth worked for LexisNexis in Miamisburg, Ohio before relocating to Florida in 2005 where she worked as an Assistant Public Defender in the Fort Pierce Office.  As an APD she handled thousands of Juvenile Criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious felonies, including manslaughter, robbery, and sex offenses.  In the Felony Division of the Public Defender’s Office she handled hundreds of cases ranging from violations of probation and community control, drug offenses including trafficking, and violent crimes including robbery, burglary, and sex offenses.   

Beth entered private practice in April 2007 working as an Associate for T. Charles Shafer & Associates in Fort Pierce, Florida.  Beth opened her own firm in St. Lucie County in 2008.  As a private attorney she has tried hundreds of jury and non-jury trials including two murder trials in which the State sought the death penalty.
