An Honest Lawyer with Honest expectations!!

I have been very impressed with Allison. She is very knowledgeable on the topics pertaining to child custody and has a lot of experience working with the different counties. The two things that I have been most impressed with is her ability to communicate back and forth in a timely manner. I have ...dealt with lawyers in the past that make you wait days for a response to an important email. This is not the case with Allison. The second the thing has really impressed me is the honesty around her expectations. Allison not only explained the laws to me but she explained what she felt the judge would most likely do based on her experience and she did this with honest expectations. She wasn't trying to promise me the world just so I would choose her to be representation. I would recommend Allison to anyone who is seeking legal counsel in matters pertaining to family law.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"Allison Marshall and I represented respective opposing ex-spouses in a difficult case. Allison knew the facts and law of the case and was well prepared. She also appeared to have a good relationship with her client. She was able to be professional with the judge and myself, as opposing counsel, which was remarkable given the high intensity of conflict in the case. We were able to settle the case just minutes before a contested trial. I believe the resolution was in both our clients' best interests and more importantly in the best interests of their joint children. Only a small percentage of attorneys are talented enough to both be prepared to present their legal case but at the same time be open to tough but professional negoations to explore alternatives to a judge-imposed decision."

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I worked with Allison as an opposing attorney in a matter where I was reviewing a Prenuptial Agreement. In my experience, it can be difficult to strongly advocate for your own client in the context of a prenuptial agreement matter while also taking into consideration the feelings of the opposing party (fiance). Unlike an opposing party in a divorce matter, the parties in a prenuptial agreement matter are planning to be married and are just beginning their life together. They are in love, and they are trying not to offend the other party with the language in the prenuptial agreement, while still trying to ensure their own best interests in the process. I was very impressed with Allison's ability to strongly advocate for her own client and clearly express her client's wishes while also taking into consideration the concerns expressed by the opposing party. Allison was also very competent and knowledgeable regarding the law. I would strongly recommend Allison as a family law attorney."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
