White Knight Collection Experience

I hired Mr. Holcomb to help me collect $13,000+ from two attorneys that my firm had worked for in March of this year (2019). Both attorneys resided out of state and both of them told me that the other owed the money. After 5-1/2 months of constant emails and phone calls for payment, in desperation,... I discounted the bill by a third and gave a final demand for approximately $9000 to be paid by both attorneys in four equal payments. I gave them 10 days to accept my offer. One attorney responded the very day he received my email but he wanted a release for half; his co-counsel did not respond. Because only one attorney responded, I called my prior collection attorney who advised me to take half and be glad that I got that much. As I could foresee that I was not going to get this debt collected, even with a discount and even with a more than generous payment plan, and because my other collection attorney was not offering any hope of collecting this debt without throwing a lot of good money after bad, I decided I needed a second legal opinion. I initially chose Mr. Holcomb because he had great Internet reviews from others who had hired him. My own experience was even better than I had hoped for: Mr. Holcomb reviewed the facts of my situation, asking for pertinent documentation, which I sent him and he reviewed. After the review, he called me and said to wait for the 10 days of my settlement offer to expire and offered to take on my "difficult" case for a flat fee, telling me, in effect, that his experience told him he'd have my money in three days. I told him to "be prepared to be ignored." The day after my settlement offer expired, the second attorney wrote an email saying that she was prepared to accept my offer, but told me that I needed to wait until she got back from vacation a week later. My timeline and payment terms for payment, apparently, were irrelevant to her. On Monday morning, I sent over my flat fee to Mr. Holcomb. By Monday afternoon, he drafted the complaint and sent it along with the demand for the entire amount plus some of my legal fees to both counsel. By Tuesday morning both debtor counsel were working hard on a solution to get me paid. By Tuesday at 1:00, I was paid the entire debt, plus some of my attorney fees. Today is Wednesday, and I am starting my day writing an excellent review for Mr. Holcomb. Alan, thank you very much for your help! Words cannot really express the great relief that I feel to finally be paid for all of our hard work.

Alan helped us recover $60,000 of misappropriated company assets.

Alan was hired to recover company assets misappropriated by prior management. His aggressive initial filings helped us recover $60,000 of the equipment. We now are in the painful discovery back and forth stage of the litigation, and Alan is guiding us through it in a logical, forthright manner. Wi...th limited financial resources at out disposal, Alan has always been effieicnt and conscious of the cost/benefit tradeoffs of one legal action vs. another. We would highly recommend Alan.

Prompt, efficient and practical

Alan represented me on a large judgement collection after a huge bankruptcy case got denied. For well over a year, he stayed on top of it, kept me updated and also kept expenses to a minimum! After the trustee`s settlement, he had the candor and business ethic to wave me off the chase at this point.... We`ll be back in 2-3 years and I would definitely use him again.

Judgement Collection

Alan helped me to garnish & collect on a judgement from the Superior Court & one from the Appeals court. (The people who owed me the money, had made it very clear that they had absolutely no intention of paying up!) Alan was upfront about his fees and the time it would take to complete this matter. H...e was most helpful.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I worked with Alan on a personal injury case in which multiple parties were injured. The case went to litigation. I learned a lot working with Alan. He was diligent in his investigation and passionate in his representation. Alan’s work benefited both of our clients and contributed to a resolution of the case in which our clients were fairly compensated for their damages. I highly recommend Alan in all areas of his legal practice and look forward to working with him again."

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I was a defense attorney for a major insurance company. I worked with them for 26 years before retiring to do mediation work. When I worked for the insurance company as defense counsel, Alan and I had a case against each other. He represented a Plaintiff who was very seriously injured in a car accident that was my client's fault. I found Alan to be very competent and good to work with. He was very thorough in handling of the case, worked quickly and hard, and got a very good settlement for his client. He is a true gentleman. One thing that I noticed with Alan that separates him from other attorneys that I have worked with is that he seems to have a special relationship with his clients. I would highly recommend him to anyone who has been injured in an accident. Bud Roberts Esq."
