My practice focuses on advising multi-national companies on issues involving a wide range of import- and export-related matters pertaining to U.S. Customs and Border Protection and other pertinent governmental agencies (DOC, EPA, CPSC, FDA , DOT, PTO, etc.).
I have advised clients on technical areas involving valuation and preference, tariff classification, quota qualification, country of origin determination, broker compliance, and security measures. I have also represented clients involved in internal investigation and enforcement matters, customs fraud, penalties and forfeitures, and trademark and copyright infringement.
My practice also involves conducting internal compliance reviews and assessments to develop, implement and document import and export compliance programs and policies that work for a company. Through this, I have developed best practices in conducting internal investigations and audits, training company personnel, and identifying and developing risk-minimization strategies for companies involved in global trade.
