Extremely Professional !

I was referred to Mr Vollertsen by several of his peers the referral was based on his knowledge and skill pertaining to my situation. I soon realized that what I was getting far exceeded the recommendation. A true professional and one who cares. Thank you Richard!

The best trial lawyer I know

I have known Rick for nearly 20 years in connection with his representation of catastrophically injured children. As the guardian ad litem in some cases and the eventual guardian in others, I have had many opportunities to observe his fine legal skills, including negotiations, motion practice, trial..., and his extensive post-judgement work with children and families in securing optimal financial, social, health, and family outcomes for his clients. He is really smart, thoughtful, candid, insightful, charming, humorous, conscientious, and absolutely and continuously committed to every aspect of his clients' welfare. I know many excellent lawyers but Rick is in a class by himself.

Awesome personal injury lawyer

My daughter and I worked with this attorney for over four years on a claim involving an auto accident where she was injured. He is professional, thorough, personable, and patient - he took all the time necessary to make sure we understood the proceedings. His medical knowledge and understanding is e...xtensive and impressive. He was also wonderful with my teenage daughter. He was straightforward, honest, and perceptive. The claim was resolved in a very positive manner; we couldn't be more pleased with the results and with our attorney.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I have known Richard Vollertsen for over 15 years. I first met him when we were on opposing sides of a case. Later we had occasion to work together on several cases, most recently on two very difficult complex pediatric brain injury cases. Mr Vollertsen distinguished himself in several important areas. First, he showed exemplary concern for the clients and their families. By that I mean her really cared about their welfare, more than any attorney that I have ever worked with. Truly, the attorney fees were a secondary matter for him. In addition, he has a prodigious work ethic and is a gifted lawyer when it comes to understanding the medical aspects of injury cases. He digs out the details and works at them until he understands them, then continues to work at trying to simplify the medicine so a jury can understand what went wrong and how the injury could and should have been prevented. He is unafraid of trial and is willing to stand before a jury if the case requires it."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
