Bret Uhrich began working at Walker Heye in 2013, joining the firm as a partner in 2016. Bret has a commercial and real estate litigation focused practice along with a civil appellate practice. Bret has represented clients in administrative hearings, in arbitration and at trial.
Bret has personal experience guiding clients through a variety of litigation and pre-litigation actions including agricultural lien filings and enforcement, judicial foreclosures, easement litigation and contract disputes. Additionally, Bret advises businesses, entrepreneurs and other clients in transactional matters in order to put the client in the best position going forward.
Prior to joining Walker Heye, Bret served as a law clerk for Washington State Attorneys’ General Office – Antitrust Division representing Washington in complex civil litigation. At the King County Prosecutor’s Office, Bret worked in the civil department defending the County in employment discrimination litigation and assisted with employment termination arbitrations.
Bret attended Gonzaga University School of Law where he graduated cum laude. While at Gonzaga, Bret was an editor for the Gonzaga Law Review and externed as a clerk for the court commissioners of the Washington State Court of Appeals – Division III. As an undergraduate, Bret attended the University of Idaho where he received Bachelor’s Degrees in Economics and Business Management & Human Resources. At the University of Idaho, Bret met his wife Kara who currently works as an elementary school teacher in Richland. Together, they enjoy the outdoors, raising their three children, and visiting friends and family.
