Larry C Stephenson

In a case that was minor, but difficult, I was suggested Larry by someone close. We represented all evidence we had and Larry gave a confident review on my case. So we hired him. He only spoke with a few of my witnesses, did nothing to speak with witnesses on the prosecutors side, and consistently n...ever communicated with me. I would have a court date and would receive no call until the day before each court date, that he then postponed further, dragging a rather minor case out for much longer than it needed to be. He continually forgot to make calls to my witnesses, and when he did call them, he would forget what he had asked them, would call them three and four more times for the same questions and charged me for them. He yelled at me on numerous occasions when I asked for expense reports and during our meetings would try to act like a parent. I am a grown adult with a good family, I do NOT need a man I'm paying to do a job, to tell me he's "disappointed" and "you know what you need to do". (The latter was a confusing statement when I would ask him what he wanted me to do to make his job easier) I gathered all my own evidence, did as I was told, and was constantly threatened if I didn't do what I was told that he would quit. I find Larry Stephenson unethical, immoral, and becoming far too old to do his job properly.

I had paid about $10,000 for him to represent me in an important case and looking back and because of my innocense in what I was charged for, Mr. Stephenson went with what prosecuters wanted to charge me with even though the witness came forward and asked to change the statement and have all charges ...dropped, Mr. Stephenson along with KPD did not listen and continued to charge me, of course I had no choice to plead out and plead guilty but in all reality if I had contacted another attorney that fought for his clients would things have been different? Years later over 20 years later I am now working on fighting for my rights, and showing the community that i am not what police and prosecuters say I am, and I wont give up, I will prove it.

As stated on Mr. Stephenson's web site, Larry is a great attorney, and even more so a great human being. I had a few arrests, that were fueled by drug/alcohol addiction, Larry not only provided a very good defense, but also recognized, I needed help with my addictions. As an adult, this may sound ...odd, but I was guided into making some very "manup" decisions, by Mr. Stephenson, which changed the course of my life. Thank you Larry. Tim Wilson
