I contacted Ashby Law with what I thought was a difficult and scary case for me. The second I walked in for a consultation I was welcomed with open arms. I had came to Jennifer Lacoste in a frantic mind set, being served court papers and being of young age I had no idea what to do, Jennifer stepped in graciously and went above and beyond for me, always reassuring me that everything would be okay and handled in the best way possible. Unfortunately, all... sorts of curve balls had came up but Jennifer gave me many options to choose from and helped me narrow down the best one. Jennifer LaCoste along with support from Paralegal, Zulema Cornejo put together an outstanding strategic plan in a very short period of time to represent my Daughter and us in defending against an unusual an unexpected no contact and temporary custody order. There was little time to prepare for the ...mandatory hearing. They did an outstanding job of organizing the facts and information we provided, preparing the depositions and reviewing them with us thoroughly in time to meet all the deadlines. They help us deal with the emotional impacts of this in addition to all the Legal aspects. Jennifer did an exceptional job in presenting our case to the Judge at the hearing. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. Those three words sum up our experience with Lacoste Law pllc. Back in October of 2020 we needed legal representation in the Tri-Cities area to handle a divorce. We reviewed several firms in the area and decided on the Lacoste Law firm. In our first call to the firm... we asked to speak to the principal, Jennifer LaCoste. She was on vacation at that time so we spoke to one of her assistants. We were assured a return phone call from Ms LaCoste the following week with a fee estimate for the complete divorce. The following week we did get a call back, not from Ms. LaCoste, but from her assistant. The assistant assured us that they could readily handle this matter and advised the retainer necessary would be several thousand dollars. We retained the LaCoste law firm. We immediately sent off the retainer amount requested to them. From that point on it went downhill from there. Let me now say that our 36 year company presently has 6 attorneys working for us, from handling Federal cases, to class actions, to real estate acquisitions. Our company spends a quarter of a million dollars a year on legal counsel. We know how the legal system works and know what to expect from a legal practitioner. Thankfully, our 6 attorneys are dramatically superior to the LaCoste Law firm. Once the LaCoste Law firm received our retainer we basically quit hearing from them. We have been left in the dark for the last six months. In fact, there has been absolutely no communication from LaCoste since before Christmas of 2020. Last year when we did call Lacoste it was pointed out to us that our phone calls will cause additional legal charges. When we asked the firm if they were going to negotiate the child support portion of the divorce they advised that would be several thousand dollars extra! I am so sorry that I retained an incompetent, uncommunicative, and greedy firm that only cares about what they can charge additional fees for. Jennifer LaCoste would not take my call this morning so I requested a return call. Of course, that call never came. Please do not make the same mistake we made and retain LaCoste Law.....unless you want to pay to be left in the dark.
