An experienced and hard working attorney for his clients.
I am so impressed and happy with Mr. Denison in his representation of my case that has been to court several times. Mr. Denison's knowledge of the law and all court room procedures are superb. If you need an attorney who will work for you and be successful then Jim Denison is the attorney for you!

poor communication
Mr Denison and his assistant Julie are extremely poor at communication. He is definitely a part of the "good 'ol boy" system in this town. You win some you lose some. If I could do it all over, I would definitely have gone with a different lawyer. I got hosed. I spent a lot of money on very little wo...
Unfortunately this is another anonymous comment. When people do not leave an actual name, it is impossible to respond. I suspect this is not actually a client at all. I believe this may be the opposing party in a case who lost in court and is lashing out. If this person would leave their name perhaps a more detailed response could be given. However, in family law, there is a lot of emotion. Do not let your decision on which attorney to hire rest on the words of anonymous postings on the internet.

Poor Communication Then Withdrew
Jim is a smart guy that is good at what he does, but I had a small incident with him and instead of trying to resolve it he simply withdrew from my case and left me hanging. I had tried for several days to contact him through both phone and email and never received a response when I had some time-sen...
As this client indicated, there was a day or two without a response as my assistant was out of the office because of a death in the family. However, there were no "time-sensitive issues" in this case. I received a lengthy email at 12:35 a.m. on a Friday. I had no time to respond that day, and received another email at 10:26 p.m. the same day indicating "I cannot get a response out of you." He then proceeded to inform me that he was "going to file on Monday" 4 or 5 different motions in the case. I cannot stay in a case if a client is going to file items on their own. Unfortunately, there are many times when attorneys cannot get back to you in the specific time-frame that you believe is necessary. While we all try our best to do so, most attorneys are juggling dozens and dozens of cases, in and out of court and meetings, and when their assistant or office staff is out of the office, communication can be delayed. In this day of instant communication through email and text messages, clients sometimes have an unrealistic expectation of how quickly attorneys can respond. We try to address that at the initial meeting with a client. Our office policy, which was communicated to this client several times, is that if you need to speak to the attorney on your case, the best way to ensure that happens is to simply make a phone appointment. I withdrew from this case because the client was going to file items in this case (1) which he had no legal basis to file and would likely end up with him having terms imposed against him, and (2) when he had an attorney representing him. The irritation at the delayed communication is completely understandable, and that was completely my office's fault. However, I cannot remain in a case if the client will be filing documents, motions, etc. without the attorney.

Do not recommend
I was made to feel like my best interest and rights were priority (at first), but in the end Mr Denison did the least amount of work possible, he failed to push on my behalf, he used my lack of experience and knowledge of law and court to his advantage and did the least amount possible he could on my...
Unfortunately, without knowing which client (if this actually is a client) wrote this post, I am unable to respond.
"Jim is a very experienced lawyer that cares not only about the outcome of his case, but his clients as well. He has excellent knowledge of family law and is the epitome of professionalism."
"Jim is always very professional and congenial in his interactions while being a zealous advocate for his clients. Him and his staff are always very pleasant to work with."
"I endorse this lawyer. Jim is an outstanding advocate for his clients, and refer family law matters to him without hesitation. For top notch representation in family law and divorce matters, Jim is the only one you should consider."
"Jim Denison is what good attorneys aspire to be. He knows the law, and puts the time into research and analysis that is necessary to produce great written work, and effective courtroom advocacy. He is a people person, and a positive influence on his community; Kittitas County is lucky to have him. Mr. Denison mentored me as a young attorney for about three years. I will be in his debt for the remainder of my career for his advice and the time he invested in helping me develop as a lawyer. Mr. Denison has a breadth of knowledge and experience that make me confident in recommending him to anyone seeking excellent legal counsel."
"Mr. Denison and I just concluded an interesting unlawful detainer, where the lease had not yet expired, triggering the ability of the tenants to pay off the judgment and be restored to their tenancy. Mr. Denison was a true professional to work with, clearly knows his stuff and is deserving of my sincerest praise for his collegiality. Practicing law can make lawyers abrasive, and it is to Mr. Denison's credit that he handled this case in a highly professional manner. If I needed to make a referral in Kittitas County, it would be to him. Elizabeth Powell"
